Sodium Channels

Voltage gated sodium channel is a protein channel on the excitatory cell membrane that allows sodium ions to flow across the membrane selectively, which maintains the excitability and action potential conduction of the cells.
Physiological function: Sodium channels are involved in triggering excitation conduction coupling (nervous system and cardiac conduction system); excitation-contraction coupling (myocardial and skeletal muscle); excitation-secretion coupling (endocrine), etc.
There are 9 α - unit subtypes in sodium channel, NaV1.1 - NaV1.9。
Amazigh has its own NaV1.5 channel stably expressed cell line and sodium channel study method in primary cells for drug screening.
